A preserved site of 28 hectares
A beautiful valley and a bend in the river.
No main roads, no railways, only side roads leading to the campsite. The campsite occupies an entire meander of the river Tardoire, with wide spaces and meadows where you can live at the slow pace of the Limousine cows that graze in the fields.
The site overlooks the river, with magnificent viewpoints where you can admire the forest and the sunrises and sunsets.
An exceptional geological site – varied landscapes
The small cliffs that face the North-West side of the campsite are the last foothils of the Massif Central and the Limousin areas.
The foot of the campsite is situated in the granite zone of the Perigord area and the commune of Montbron opens out over the limestone plains of The Charente, with their large number of caves.
A site renowned for its environmental quality and richness
The association ‘Charente Nature’ has classified the site as an ‘Exceptional Site’ ; you can see numerous varieties of plant and animal species here.
The estate is classified ‘Bird garden LPO’. Bring your binoculars , it’s a birds paradise. They are not at all shy, so much so that sometimes they come and perch on you or keep you company during your meals.
Europe has classified a large part of the site NATURA 2000.
An Environmentally-friendly approach
We have received the award of the ‘Label Clé Verte’, given for the careful way in which we maintain our site in harmony with the environment.
We put the emphasis on biodiversity by keeping up wild areas for the different animal or plant species.
We keep our use of chemical products to a strict minimum. You will find snails and a whole range of other small animals and insects here, that have disappeared from other areas because of the intensive use of chemicals.
We also have obtained the European ‘ECO-LABEL’.
Silence is high on our list of priorities on the site.
Take time to take time out…
Take time to find time for yourself…
Take time to regain your natural energy.
