On the River Tardoire

The campsite is on the edge of the River Tardoire which is classified a category 1° river.
There are many kinds of white fish and carnivorous fish to be found here.
There are no trout.
Beyond the town of La Rochefoucauld, the River Tardoire becomes a category 2° river.

Lake fishing

We rent a lake that’s 6km from the campsite and that’s 6000m2 in size.
There is free access to this lake.
It’s calm and secluded and has a pleasant view; it’s the ideal place to take a picnic lunch and spend the day.
Every year our campers catch carp there that are more than 1 metre long !
In the Périgord, about 20km away, there are several sizeable lakes that are suitable for a day’s fishing.
You need to buy a card for fishing in the rivers and the public lakes but not in our private lake; ask for information at reception.

Activities

Once or twice a summer, our baker, who is a mad keen fisherman, organises a half-day for beginners. You can learn how to set up your rod and line and how to pull the fish out of the water.
We usually put them carefully back into the water after catching them.
